We all know that Miley Cyrus is an animal-loving pop star, who makes it a point to share her philosophy towards veganism whenever she can, but her new Instagram post on the matter is causing quite the stir.
On Sunday (July 9), the pop star took to the social media realm to make a bold statement. "If you choose to eat meat .... you love PETS not ANIMALS," the 24-year-old chart-topper captioned side-by-side shots of a dog and cow alongside the hashtags #loveanimalsdonteatthem and #vegan.
While her animal rights activism is something to applaud, the remark blew up the comment section of her post. Some users like @__ommy____ showed support for Cyrus' message, writing, "I love it when you use your platform to spread the vegan message." However, others like @kylierose2 felt the need to clap back at the star's bold remarks. "If we stopped eating meat altogether there would be no population control and it would have drastic effects on the environment leading to a lot of death or even extinction of lower plants and animals," the user wrote. "Sooo either way someone's got to die. I love animals more than anyone but I don't believe that there is anything wrong with eating animals that are raised humanely."
Later in the weekend, Miley took her love for veganism to the next level by sharing her new tattoo devoted to the lifestyle. Located on her tricep, the star's new ink is a sunflower with a V stemming from the bottom of it. "bumper stickers all over dis bentley #vegan #emu #pablowtheblowfish ectttttt," she captioned one photo of the new tattoo.
