My grandma had one of these. It never made it into my house though. This is a wringer and it was used for squeezing out liquid from wet clothes. You just put the clothes through those rollers. Wringers really dried out the clothes better than the spin cycle on modern machines.
I always said that back in the days people in charged of house chores had to do so much manual labor. No wonder they were all fit! Have you ever seen one?
