in #CASE you missed it… Doc Dresses Up As Chewbacca

Doctor gets to fulfill his promise to a teen patient that he would deliver the news of the kid’s new donor heart while wearing a Chewbacca costume.

Dr. Phillip Thrush made good on his promise to his teen patient five months ago. That’s when 15-year-old Austin Eggleston was placed on a heart transplant list and his the pediatric cardiologist told him when a heart became available, he’d deliver the good news to the die hard “Star Wars” fan while wearing a Chewbacca costume.

So when the Wookie walked in to his room at the Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, the teen was thrilled. “Do we seriously have a heart?” Austin asks before hugging and high-fiving his doctor.

"To see him knowing that he has a chance at life, that he has a chance to achieve so many things leaves you speechless," says Austin's mom, Mary Anglin. “He will make sure that he does remarkable things because of it.”

And he’s already starting! Austin is lobbying Marvel to host a special screening of “Avengers: Infinity War” for the kids at the hospital who can’t leave because they’re too sick. He’s started a social media campaign using the Twitter handle @TheReelThanos to get the movie maker to notice.
