J.J. Watt Will Pay The Funerals Of Victims Of The Shooting In Texas

Houston Texans star J.J. Watt will cover the costs of the funerals for the victims of Friday’s shooting at Santa Fe High School. According to USA Today,news of the athlete’s generosity broke shortly after he tweeted about the tragedy on Friday, writing, “Absolutely horrific.” After learning about Watt’s intentions, Ellen DeGeneres tweeted, "Thank you, @JJWatt for going above and beyond for the families of Santa Fe, Texas. I love you." Ten people were killed Friday morning and 10 more were wounded when a 17-year-old carrying a shotgun and revolver opened fire at the high school about 30 miles from downtown Houston; nine of the victims were students. Known for his humanitarian efforts, Watts most recently raised more than $37 million for those affected by the flooding from Hurricane Harvey last August.
