My grandma had a variation of these, my mom had one and now my wife keeps one too. These are Hot pads for hot dishes. Although in my house we use it almost like a coaster. But mostly for hot plates or trays. They are so cute and you don't ruin your table or counter tops. I still remember my mom screaming at me every time I forgot to use them... "You are gonna ruin the taaaable!"......Good times....
