Seattle band Pearl Jam played two amazing sold out concerts at Safeco Field in an effort to raise money and awareness for the homeless situation.
During one point at Friday’s concert Eddie Vedder came out alone on stage and started to speak about rock icon Tom Petty. How the last time he saw Petty was right here in Safeco Field and in a tribute to Tom, Vedder proceeded to knock out the Petty classic “I Won’t Back Down”. Prior to launching into the song Vedder asks the thousands in attendance to take their cell phones and light the place up in which everyone happily obliged and honored the lost rock icon in a special moment.
