It was a hair drier! I know this one because my dad bought one for my mom... They were so heavy. It was the GE bonnet style hair dryer. It was a little noisy but very efficient, these ones really dry your hair, they were so hot... Perfect to wash and dry fast, curling too. My mom used to sleep with it on her head all night ,and dad would say she was going to burn the house down !!! What I remember was that you had to stand and hold the dern thing until my hair was dry..
