Oregon Woman's Racist Rant Goes Viral on Facebook

A video that's been viewed more than 2 million times on Facebook appears to show a woman challenging another Asian woman's legal status in the country outside a doughnut shop in Portland, Oregon.

Selina Cairel posted the video to her Facebook page Wednesday, writing "I was out with some friends last night in Portland and had a terrible encounter with a girl who was saying the nastiest most racist thing possible..."

Cairel wrote the woman began berating her outside Voodoo Doughnuts shop in Portland.

"Before you say anything you might want to make sure you're actual ‘legals,’" the woman told Cairel and her friend.

When Cariel asks her what she means, the woman replies: "That you’re ‘illegals’ crossing the border. And your parents probably had to work for fucking dirt just to get here."

The woman keeps smiling as she speaks while her passenger appears to hide from Cairel's camera.

Cairel wrote in her post:

It started when she had said in the most demeaning Poor excuse of a supposed “Asian” accent that “She’s Asian, she can’t see that’s why she can’t drive”. I was parked next to her and i did not instigate this at all. She was the one to pull out her phone first saying “ this should go on instagram” and started recording me.I literally just got back to my car from getting some voodoo donuts and just wanted to go home. I never let this pass and wanna make sure this kind of behavior is seen and how people of color encounter this all the time. I wanna make sure she gets seen and her racist, ignorant behavior is exposed.

The mother of the woman seen berating Cairel in the video told KOIN that her daughter was sorry and realizes that she "made a mistake. She also told the station that police are keeping an eye on them after they received threatening phone calls.

Meanwhile, about an hour after posting the video, Cairel posted another photo of her passport with laughing emojis, writing, "I promise I'm legal guys."
