Sure names like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, George Michael, and Cyndi Lauper dominated the charts and the pop scene of the 80’s. Yet there was an entirely different set of groups who were forging their own unique identity and sound.
A sound that would become to be known as “New Wave” or “Alternative” – yep, the “alternative” moniker was not something that was heaped upon numerous bands from the 90’s, no no.
Growing up in Seattle during the 80’s and having listened to some great radio stations like KJET 1600 AM and the old KYYX that were playing 80’s alternative it was "rad".
