My dad had one of these when he was a kid. It was a cap bomb, a toy for kids in the 50's. I don't think kids nowadays would have any fun with this. The toy was shaped like a bomb or missile and thrown to make the cap explode upon impact and making the sound effect. But my dad always said that For big bangs he and his friends would hit a roll of caps with the barrel end of a baseball bat! He would also talk about the cap bomb grenades. (They made playing army that much more fun.) Used to double the caps up in the plunger to get a bigger bang.
