Trump Won't Give The State Of The Union Address Until Shutdown Is Over

Some people are saying the president lost on this one. Others are saying the president is planning his next move. But in the meantime the president let Pelosi win and won't have the State of the Union until the shutdown is over like Pelosi requested.

Taking to Twitter, the President said he’d make his State of the Union address when the partial government shutdown is over. He explained that there's "no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber." Trump added, “I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!”

Pelosi has also responded via Twitter. “Mr. President, I hope by saying “near future” you mean you will support the House-passed package to #EndTheShutdown that the Senate will vote on tomorrow,” she writes. “Please accept this proposal so we can re-open government, repay our federal workers and then negotiate our differences.”
