While President Trump is confident that his tax returns won’t be getting released, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is also confident that they will be. In her weekly briefing, Pelosi says committee requests for tax returns "have never been denied."
She went on to say that Congress will get President Trump's tax returns “one way or another” adding that Democrats are "not walking away" if Republicans say no the first time around to releasing Trump's tax returns. Pelosi says they’re approaching the release of the Mueller Report in a similar fashion. “Show us the Mueller report, show us the tax returns,” Pelosi noted. “We are not walking away just because you say no the first time around.”
As we told you before, the Ways and Means Committee has requested copies of six years of Trump's personal and business tax returns. Trump reporters in the Cabinet Room that he would not voluntarily release his tax returns, insisting that he remains under audit.
