Michelle And Barack Obama Hitting Netflix With Seven Projects

It was a year ago that Netflix locked in former President Barack and Michelle Obama for a deal to produce content for the streaming network (under their Higher Ground production company). While we still don’t know how much it cost to land the duo, we do have an idea of what their programming will look like.

  • “American Factory”– A documentary about “post-industrial Ohio” and a new factory opened by a Chinese billionaire in the shell of a closed-down GM plant.
  • “Bloom”– A scripted drama set in post-WWII New York City.
  • “Crip Camp” –A documentary about a camp for disabled kids in 1970 and how it started the disability rights movement.
  • “Fifth Risk”– A non-fiction series based on the book byMichael Lewis.
  • “Frederick Douglass:Prophet of Freedom” –A feature-length biopic.
  • “Listen To Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents”– Telling the story of food.
  • “Overlooked”– A scripted anthology series based on the “New York Times” obituary column.
