Trump Defends China Tariffs On Twitter Despite Complaints From Farmers

President Trumpis defending imposing more tariffs on Chinese goods. Taking to Twitter, the President writes that the U.S. is "right where we want to be with China" and that the U.S. will be taking in tens of billions of dollars from tariffs.

He said buyers also have the option of getting goods usually imported from China from an American producer or another country that isn't effected by tariffs. Tariffs on Chinese goods increased last week after trade talks with China broke down. Trump has accused China of breaking promises made during the talks and trying to renegotiate a deal.

Meanwhile, Trump is suggesting in a tweet that China may wait him out in trade negotiations. The President tweeted that Chinese officials may be waiting until 2020 and hope Democrats take the White House, claiming that they might get a better deal with them than they would with him. “China is DREAMING that Sleepy Joe Biden, or any of the others, gets elected in 2020,” he writes. “They LOVE ripping off America!” He added that China they would be wise to deal with him now, because it will be far worse for them after he wins a second term.
