“Johnny Jihad” Is Now A Free Man

The man known as the “Johnny Jihad” and the “American Taliban” will start his journey to freedom today.

Federal prison officials say John Walker Lindh will be released from the prison in Terre Haute, Indiana at some point today. As you might recall, U.S. Forces captured Lindh in Afghanistan after the attacks on September 11th. He pleaded guilty in 2002 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He’s getting out three years early for “good behavior.”

Still, Lindh will have to serve three years of probation after his release – and there are other conditions: his monitoring includes getting permission to go on the Internet, counseling…and he's not allowed to travel.
