Stabbing At Park In Japan Leaves At Least 16 Hurt

Horror in Japan as an unnamed suspect reportedly stabbed himself in the neck after stabbing at least 16 others. He has since died and one of his victims – described as “an elementary school girl” also succumbed to her injuries.

Officials say the stabbing incident happened at a bus stop for school children in Kawasaki, which is near Tokyo. Several of the other people who were hurt were also school-age children – though three adults were also said to be injured.

As for the attacker’s motives, police aren’t saying. But Japanese Prime MinisterShinzo Abe[[SHEEN-zoh AH-bay]] is calling the situation "heartbreaking." "We must keep our children safe at all costs," Abe told reporters. "I've instructed the related ministers to take immediate action to ensure the children's safety in going to and leaving school." President Trump, who was in country to meet with Abe, said the American people "grieve for the victims' families."
