RESIDENTS WALK TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SECOND ANNUAL

LUSTGARTEN WALK—SEATTLE

WHAT: Join us for the annual Lustgarten Walk—Seattle on Saturday, June 1st!Send a crew to capture local residents fight against pancreatic cancer at Magnuson Park.

Pancreatic cancer has a five-year survival rate in the single digits. This year, more than 56,000 cases will be diagnosed, and almost 46,000 people will die from pancreatic cancer in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 1,000 Washington residents will die from this disease this year.

In addition to uniting the community in the spirit of hope,100% of the money raised goes to advancing researchaimed at early detection methods, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure for pancreatic cancer.Visitwww.lustgarten.orgto register and learn more.

WHO: Last year, Melissa Roeters started the Lustgarten Walk—Seattle to raise awareness and funding for pancreatic cancer research. After losing her dad to the disease in 2009, Melissa wanted to find a way to honor his memory and bring hope to other patients, survivors, and their loved ones in her community who have been affected by this disease.

Participants will walk or run a 5K course. Come out and join us for a day of awareness, raffles, and food!
