"The case is closed!" Says President Trump After Mueller Spoke

"The case is closed!" That's how President Trump is reacting to comments from Special Counsel RobertMueller. As Mr. Trump sees – and as he tweeted – nothing has changed and argued that a "person is innocent" if there is "insufficient evidence" to charge a crime.

As we’ve reported separately, Mueller said a longstanding department policy prohibited him from charging the President with a crime in the Russia investigation. Mueller also added, if he had confidence that the President clearly did not commit a crime, he would have said so.

Backing up the President’s assertions, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders took to Fox News to cheer that the Russia investigation is over and argued it’s “time to move on.” Sanders said the "case is closed" and called the Russia probe a hoax and a lie. As for the possibility of impeachment in the Democratic-led House, Sanders said it would "hurt Americans."
