Bear Is Put Down Because People Kept Taking Selfies With It

Big Black Bear

If you go out in nature, don’t take selfies with the animals. You’re putting them in danger.

Oregon wildlife officials say a black bear was put down because parkgoers wouldn't stop taking selfies with him and he became to comfy with people. Portland biologists shot and killed the young animal when he was seen eating human snacks near a park entrance.

Local law enforcement said they feared he could become a danger to people by becoming comfortable with humans, caused by the selfies and those who fed him. The bear was repeatedly removed from an area, but kept coming back to be close to humans.

Wildlife experts say the incident shows why people should not feed bears or invade their habitats.
