US World Cup win proves female players deserve equal pay, team says

The United States Women's soccer team are world champions once again. The U.S. women's national soccer team defeated the Netherlands 2-0 yesterday in the championship match to win their fourth world title and are now back to back champions. 

The U.S. women's national soccer team proved their dominance at the 2019 Women's World Cup by defeating the Netherlands 2-0 on Sunday in the championship match.

The victory in Lyon, France capped off an unrivaled run by the soccer powerhouse. They have now taken home the trophy in 1991, 1999, 2015 and now in 2019. 

At the close of the game, some members of the crowd began chanting "equal pay" as a show of support for the U.S. Women's National Team, which is in a legal fight for their pay to match that of their male counterparts.The prize for the 2018 men's World Cup stood at $400 million, while female players will receive $30 million this year.
