Documents Show Cohen, Hicks, Trump Discussed Hush Money Payments

Former Trump Lawyer Michael Cohen Testifies Before House Oversight Committee

Court documents show Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen and Trump aide Hope Hicks did discuss a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in a phone call just weeks before the 2016 election. The documents also show that Trump joined the call.

Unredacted search warrants and documents in the Cohen case were released by government prosecutors. Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal have alleged having affairs with Trump, claims Trump has denied.

While Cohen has insisted that he made hush money payments to Daniels and McDougal at Trump's direction, the President has called Cohen a liar. Cohen is serving a three-year prison term after pleading guilty to tax fraud, banking fraud and campaign finance violations.

  • Meanwhile…the Justice Department has ended the investigation of Cohen's hush money payments. Federal Judge William Pauley noted the end of the probe during a court hearing. He ordered prosecutors to release unredacted search warrants and documents in Cohen's case. The Justice Department has not commented on the end of the hush money investigation.
