Two Louisiana Police Officers Fired Over AOC Post

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Holds Immigration Town Hall In Queens

First came word that one Louisiana police officer is out of a job over a Facebook post that suggested Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should be shot. The post by 14-year Gretna Police veteran Charlie Rispoli called the New York Democrat a "vile idiot" who, quote, "needs a round, and I don't mean the kind she used to serve." As it happened, the message was attached to a fake news article.

But that’s not all – Gretna Police Chief Arthur Lawson said today that Rispoli and another officer -Angelo Varisco– who liked the post, has also been let go. He said the situation was an embarrassment to the department.

"Whether it was a joke or not, it was improper," Lawson said at a press conference. "To insinuate a violent act against an individual, an elected official, against a seeded US congressperson... It’s completely irresponsible and intolerable."
