Mueller To Testify Right Now. Trump Calls It A Witch Hunt

FBI Director Mueller Testifies Before Senate Judiciary Committee

If there was a “D-Day” on Capitol Hill, there’s an argument that today is it. This, as Special Counsel Robert Mueller is just hours away from delivering testimony in two House committee hearings.

Mueller will be pressed this morning on his final report on Russian interference in the 2016 election, which also investigated the possibility that the Trump campaign was involved in that effort. While investigators didn't find that President Trump'steam conspired with Russia's efforts to sway the election, the top issue for Democrats has been whether Trump obstructed justice.

That’s because Mueller's report listed numerous instances of possible obstruction, but he refused to make a decision on whether to pursue charges against Trump. He has said in more than one statement that he would have said Trump was in the clear if he could – but that he couldn’t take that stand.

  • Testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, is set to begin just after 8am this morning. A noon hearing with the House Intelligence Committee will follow – check your local listings orCLICK HEREto watch online.

Perhaps not surprisingly, President Trump isn’t happy about the development. “So Robert Mueller has now asked for his long time Never Trumper lawyer to sit beside him and help with answers,” he offered via Twitter overnight. “What’s this all about? His lawyer represented the “basement server guy” who got off free in the Crooked Hillary case. This should NOT be allowed. Rigged Witch Hunt!”
