Trump Sues To Block Congress From Seeing His Taxes: President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump really doesn’t want Congress to get a hold of his tax returns. In fact, he just filed a lawsuit in Washington federal court to try and stop the Democrat-led U.S. House Ways and Means Committee from obtaining his tax records from New York State.

Trump is trying to stop committee chairman Richard Neal’s possible request for the documents under New York’s TRUST Act, which compels the state’s tax department to comply with the House committee’s records requests. New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, signed the act into law just last month

Trump’s lawyer Jay Sekulow says in a statement that intent of the lawsuit is to “end presidential harassment,” describing the actions taken by the House and New York officials as “nothing more than political retribution.”

And the committee definitely wants to see those returns. Just three weeks ago they sued the U.S. Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service to try and force them to hand over Trump’s tax records from the past six years. Source:Yahoo
