President Trump says 'Robert Mueller did a poor job'

US-POLITICS-TRUMP

While nothing new was learned during the day of testimony from former Special Counsel Robert Mueller, President Trump is taking a victory lap – and again, insisting that the Russia investigation was a “ridiculous hoax” and a “witch hunt.”

Talking with reporters at the White House, Trump dismissed Mueller's testimony in Congress and said there was "no defense of what Robert Mueller was trying to defend." Trump was pressed about the fact that Mueller did not exonerate him on obstruction of justice. While he’s repeated that he was for months, this time Trump said Mueller ‘did not have a right to exonerate.’

Trump called Republicans “incredible warriors” and argued that Democrats should be ashamed of themselves. Trump said Mueller's performance was “horrible” and stressed that Mueller “had a lot of problems.” Trump also argued that yesterday’s events ar going to help Republicans in next year's election. He called it a very good day for the GOP and said the Russia investigation was a "phony cloud" that has been very bad for the country. Trump added, "It's over."
