The President chided Dems for always “playing the race card” and added, “in fact they have done so little for our Nation's great African American people. Now, lowest unemployment in U.S. history and only getting better. Elijah Cummings has failed badly."
Trump added "there is nothing racist in stating plainly what most people already know" when it comes to Cummings and went on to say that Pelosi's district in San Francisco “isn't recognizable lately” and something should be done about it. According to the President, Democrats "should stop wasting time on the Witch Hunt Hoax and start focusing on our Country!"
Among his critics? Congressman – and presidential candidate –Bernie Sanders. Saying he respects Mr. Cummings, Sanders noted that “it's unbelievable that we have a President of the United States who attacks American cities.” The problem with that statement? The fact that Sanders himself once compared West Baltimore to a “Third World Country.”
