El Paso Walmart shooter targeted Hispanics in shooting

El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen says it took six minutes for police to respond to the scene once the active shooter call came in. The suspected gunman, a 21-year-old white male from the Dallas area, surrendered and is in custody. Allen says he is expected to be arraigned on capital murder charges. . The suspect lived in Allen, more than 600 miles away from El Paso and it would have taken him over nine hours to drive to the area.

The case may be prosecuted as a hate crime, due to an online post the alleged shooter may have uploaded about an hour before starting the rampage. The 2,300-word document titled 'The Inconvenient Truth', attributed to the author P._Crusius on one website, opens with the declaration: 'This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas. They are the instigators, not me. I am simply defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by an invasion.' ... The 21-year-old from Allpatricken, Texas — a 10-hour drive from El Paso —is being held without bail, the records show.
