Rosanna Arquette Tweeted 'I'm sorry I was born white and privileged'

Premiere Of HBO's "Jane Fonda In Five Acts" - Arrivals

In our currently racially charged climate, it’s almost never good to mention “whiteness” or “privilege.”Rosanna Arquette found this out the hard way. The FBI asked her to make her Twitter account private after she shared, “Sorry I was born White and privileged. It disgusts me. And I feel so much shame.”

Neither the FBI nor Rosanna would discuss why the lockdown was necessary. In a statement she released about the threatening and cruel response to her tweet, she said, “I said yesterday the I am ashamed of the color of my skin. I am privileged just because I’m White. I feel shame. Because of all the violence that is happening in America and other racist countries.”

“I was not raised to be racist,” Arquette added. “In fact, my mother took me to Harlem to integrate an all-Black nursery school when I was [four]. I feel truly desolate at the bigotry and severe racism that we are witnessing in 2019.”
