Donald Trump wants to BUY Greenland

President Trump is reportedly toying with the idea of buying Greenland. The “Wall Street Journal” reports that the President has repeatedly asked advisers about the possibility with "varying degrees of seriousness."

However, he's reportedly also asked his White House counsel to check out whether it can be done. It's unclear how the U.S. could proceed with the purchase, but at least two sources claim the President has raised the issue more than once, asking aides and listening seriously about the possibility and advantages of owning Greenland.

For the record, Greenland is the largest island in the world and currently part of Denmark's territory, though it has autonomous rule. And this isn’t the first time such an idea has floated about.Back in 1946, the U.S. proposed paying Denmark $100-milliont to buy Greenland after flirting with the idea of swapping land in Alaska for strategic parts of the Arctic island.
