A professor at North Carolina State University has been suspended after his attempt at “humor” was clearly not taken as such. Physics profE. David Davis, reportedly called on two female students and when they didn’t answer the way he wanted, he said, “the women in this class are useless…let me call on a man.” Then, after getting called out on the remark, he qualified it by saying, “it was a ‘joke’ because women are important for our species to reproduce.” Not quite the crowd-pleaser he was hoping it would be, obviously. The school is investigating.
