Restaurant charges $30 for slow eating

If you like to take your time enjoying your breakfast in the morning we hope you weren’t at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco this week. It seems the hotel was so busy with a J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference that they took a drastic stepto keep their restaurant from getting too crowded. Apparently, anyone eating breakfast at the Laurel Court Restaurant and Bar had to spend at least $50 on food, plus folks who take longer than $90 minutes to eat were charged $30 for every extra hour. Since it rarely takes 90 minutes to eat breakfast it likely wasn’t a problem. As for that $50 minimum, it probably was fine too, considering their steep prices, with pancakes costing $22 and a glass of orange juice at $10.
