Food Lifeline In Need of Cash Donations As Food Donations Decrease

Food Lifeline is in need of cash donations to help support the community as donations are decreasing. Food Lifeline is the region's largest hunger relief organization, and over half of the neighbors they serve are children or seniors.

According to a press release from Food Lifeline:

"In-kind donations to Food Lifeline, accounting for 85 percent of the food we source annually, have declined dramatically in the last week while the need for the nutritious foods that we provide has increased. To respond to both of these challenges, we’ve shifted to sourcing truckload volumes of cased-out essential groceries and hardy produce items. We’re also mobilizing our capacity to pre-pack food boxes that can be directly distributed to families either at neighborhood food banks or through home delivery."

A $30 donation can provide pre-packed healthy food boxes for a family facing hunger, and a $100 donation can provide more than 1,000 pounds of nutritious produce.
