Husband Isn't Happy About WIfe's Mid-Day Naps

Hands down, sleep and parenting don't mix. Some moms catch sleep where they can, even if that means having dad watch the kids after getting off work. One exhausted mom shared her story on Reddit’s “Am I The A*****e?” subreddit to get feedback about the subject.

  • User u/theroommum explained that she works from home, has a 4-year-old and a 3-month-old. The baby has a health condition that requires mom to feed him ever 40 to 80 minutes, even through the night.
  • She feeds him through the night and works at her own schedule during the day.
  • Her husband works from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., so she naps from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Makes sense, right?
  • The mom says her husband was fine with it at first, but now wants “time to relax” when he gets home from work. That would leave her with zero sleep.

Needless to say, Redditors went nuts over this and agreed she isn’t an “a*****e.” The majority said new parent need to support and work with each other and that uninterrupted sleep is vital. One person commented Tell him to start feeding the baby at night & you'll stop taking naps” and another You only gave birth three months ago! Your husband is being selfish.” We just hope she gets some solid sleep.
