WalletHub set out to determine which city’s residents are most stressed out

It’s no secret that folks everywhere are dealing with a lot of stress, especially this year thanks to the coronavirus. Whether it’s money, family, health or something else, most people are affected by something. But it turns out, where you live may play a role in how stressed out you truly are.

WalletHub set out to determine which city’s residents' are the most stressed out, looking at 180 cities across 42 stress indicators.

They looked at factors like average hours of work per week, personal bankruptcy rates, childcare costs, job satisfaction and more.

They also took into consideration health-related stress, including things having to do with the coronavirus, as well as protests following George Floyd's death

With all that in mind, Cleveland, Ohio topped the list as the most stressed city in the U.S.

It scored a 66.93 out of 100 and is tops for financial stress, and in the Top Five for health and safety stress, and family stress.

Birmingham, Alabama, which is at three overall, is tops for family stress, while Detroit, Michigan, second overall, is tops for health and safety stress, and Yonkers, New York is tops for work stress.

On the other end of the spectrum, folks in Lincoln, Nebraska are the least stressed city in the U.S..

Lincoln scores a 35.49 out of 100, and comes in dead last for work stress, in the bottom ten for family stress, and pretty low on the list for health and safety and financial stress.
