According to a survey by Atom Tickets 40% of Americans say they are ready to go back to the movies immediately after theaters reopen

There are a lot of summer staples folks missed out on this year due to the coronavirus, and getting to hit the theater to see all the big summer blockbusters was definitely one that hurt. But are folks itching to head back to the theater? Well, according to a new poll, that depends.

According to a survey by Atom Tickets:

40% of Americans say they are ready to go back to the movies immediately after theaters reopen.

34% of Americans say they’d likely be ready within a month after reopening.

In what’s bound to be good news for theater owners, only .8% say they will never return to theaters.

15% say they’re going to wait until there’s a coronavirus vaccine.

So, what will it take for folks to feel comfortable going to the movies again?

The most important safety measure for folks is spaced seating (34%).

That’s followed by staff and guests wearing masks (30%).

Along those likes, 85% of folks say they’d wear a mask even if it’s not required.

Limited contact is also important, with 87% of moviegoers preferring to purchase tickets digitally so they don’t have to interact with a cashier.

And when it comes to concessions, 68% would prefer to pre-order their snacks and pick them up rather than wait online.

When it comes to the movies themselves, 49% of folks say they want to wait for a new movie to be released before returning to theaters.

“Wonder Woman 1984”

“James Bond: No Time To Die”

And for 2021

“The Eternals”

“The Batman”

“Jurassic World: Dominion”
