A teen in India that eats her hair is recovering from a side effect of that habit.
The girls is recovering after undergoing an operation to remove a 15-pound hairball from her stomach. Reports say the 17-year-old came to the hospital to get an ultrasound, which doctors thought revealed a cancerous tumor.
However, during the six-hour surgery, they instead removed the ball of hair, weighing more than a newborn baby, from her body. Medical staff found that the girl had a habit of chewing on her hair, and that habit led to the lump forming inside of her stomach.
