You never know when you’re going to meet someone and fall in love and sometimes it happens in the very last place you’d expect it. That’s exactly what happened to a woman named Katie, who was sure that Twitter was the absolute worst place to meet a single man. But it turns out, she was wrong and a tweet about that is what led her to meet the guy she just got engaged to.
It all started on Twitter three years ago when Katie tweeted that she had “asked the married guys at work where to meet single guys” and they suggested a “strip club or any bar, anywhere at 1:30am.” A man named Terry replied and suggested Twitter as an option, but she thought that was a bad idea and responded that it was “literally the worst answer.” He then made more suggestions, including “DMV, Blockbuster Video, and Hooters,” but she thought those were also bad, replying, “These are terrible, but Twitter is still worse.”
Then Katie and Terry had a little chit-chat back and forth in a fun, flirty, very public way on Twitter. And after that, apparently he slid into her DMs, writing, “For what it’s worth, I think you’re cool.” She responded, “Lol, I am cool. So are you.” That was the beginning of their love story and now three years later, he popped the question and she said “Yes!” And they shared the details on Twitter, which brought them together in the first place.
