in #CASE you missed it.. September 12th is the National Day of Encouragement!

The National Day of Encouragement has occurred every year since 2007 – and always falls on September 12th. How’d it start? A group of teenagers at the National Leadership Forum were asked about some of the major problems in high schools and tasked with suggesting possible solutions.

When it came to issues like drugs, sex and bullying – these kids felt that the root of the problems were a lack of encouragement. And so, the Encouragement Foundation was born – with some help from the folks at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.

The first proclamation for the Day of Encouragement was made by Searcy Mayor Belinda LaForce on August 22nd, 2007. Then, in September then-Governor Mike Beebe, signed a proclamation making September 12, 2007 the "State Day of Encouragement" for Arkansas. Later, President George W. Bush also signed a message making September 12th the official "National Day of Encouragement."

So be kind – encourage others to do good things, and lending a helping hand. You’ll all be glad you did!
