TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Cops Dressed As Santa Stop Suspected Car Thieves

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Cops in California were wearing costumes to help prevent crimes during the busy holiday shopping season. Two undercover police detectives with the Riverside Police Department were dressed as Santa and his elf to target retail theft at a shopping center.

With the program, called “Santa’s Intervention” they were able to stop two suspected car thieves and three suspected shoplifters at a Target store. For several hours, the disguised detectives worked with loss prevention specialists doing video surveillance inside the store, while they stayed outside to catch any suspected thieves.

When the suspects left the store with merchandise they’d just stolen, Santa and his elf were waiting there to take them into custody. And we’re guessing that automatically landed them on his naughty list!
