A UK couple says the key to their relationship success is their unconventional sex life.Maria Simpson and her fiancé James Phillips have been together for years,but they’ve only had sex three times. And that’s because these 25-year-olds only do it once a year –on Valentine’s Day. They know outsiders won’t understand, but they don’t care because it works for them.
“I know this may sound crazy, but our Valentine’s Day sex pact is what keeps us committed and obsessed with each other,” Maria explains. “It proves we have a real connection, because our relationship isn’t all about sex.”
The arrangement happened after they met and decided to take things slowly in the bedroom. James was traveling for work, which made their old-fashioned pact easier to stick to, until they’d had a few drinks on Valentine’s Day 2019 and broke their rule. After that, they made their once a year pledge and they’ve stuck to it since, but all bets are off once they tie the knot. The couple is hoping to marry on Valentine’s Day 2022 and they won’t be restraining themselves physically after that. “Until then, only Cupid’s arrow can get me naked,” the bride-to-be explains. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
