Dubai Reportedly Using Drones To Create “Fake Rain”

In Dubai, temperatures can exceed 120-degrees. When you combine that with an average annual rainfall of four inches, you can get a feel for how dry things can get.

To combat this, the UAE has tossed $15 million towards “rain enhancement” projects. Among them are drones designed to “zap clouds with an energy charge” which supposedly “charges the droplets in the clouds” making them “more likely to fall as rain.” Tests are said to have “successfully created a downpour in the city” as recently as July 15th.
