Boogie Boarder Saves Mom & Son Drowning At The Beach

A teen from Ohio was enjoying a beach vacation in North Carolina with his family when he became a life saver.Travis Shrout was boogie boarding in the Atlantic Ocean when he heard a mom yell for help while struggling in the surf with her son.

A current was pulling Ashley Bachelor and her 10-year-old son out into the ocean and Shrout, a former lifeguard, swam to help. The 18-year-old passed his boogie board to the mom and headed for her son, whose head was bobbing in and out of the water. Shrout grabbed the boy and was heading back to shore as other swimmers formed a human chain to get the three of them safely back to the beach.

Ashley is grateful to her hero for saving their lives and told Travis’ mom, “If he had no other purpose in life, he has fulfilled his purpose” by rescuing them.
