NEW Study Shows Moms With Young Kids Drank 323% More After Pandemic

The stress of the COVID-19 pandemic last year has been seen in many different areas of the lives of Americans, but a new study shows another way lockdowns had an impact.

According to a study by the nonprofit RTI International for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism done last year, mothers with young children drank 323% more after the pandemic began than they did before.

It wasn’t just moms, either. The general recommended drinking guidelines for men are up to four drinks per day. For women, it’s no more than three per day; according to the study, 39% of Americans exceeded those recommendations between February and November 2020.
