We’ve heard so many terrible mother-in-law stories, but this woman takes the cake by trying to poison her new daughter-in-law with one. The events sound more like the plot to a Lifetime movie than real life, but a wedding planner named Callies aw it all go down. In a series of Tik Tok videos, she shares what went down with the groom’s mom at a wedding she was working.
In the firstvideo, she says everything started off “completely normal,” until an unscheduled pastry shop delivery arrived. The groom’s mom explained that she’d ordered extra cupcakes to make sure everyone had enough dessert and Callie carried on preparing for the nuptials. Then after the newlyweds cut their wedding cake, her brand-new mother-in-law insisted the bride try one of the cupcakes. The wedding planner recalls that just as the bride was about to take a bite, her husband stopped her and started yelling at his mom. It turns out, the sweets were coconut and his new wife is “severely, deathly allergic” to it - something his mom was well aware of.
Callie explains that while the bride looked “horrified and scared” at that moment, her new MIL looked like “she could not have less of a care in the world,” despite having just nearly poisoned her daughter-in-law. The groom started screaming at his mom,according to Callie, he was yelling, “You are a terrible person. You have never been supportive of this relationship.” After he shouted, “This is a new low, even for you,” his mom calmly replied, “Accidents happen every day, dear.” And then she got her stuff and left the reception, a move that led this wedding planner to call her “110% a sociopath.”
