8th Grader Builds Robotic Prosthetic Hand For His Friend

Sammy Salvano is an eighth grader in New Jersey. His friend,Ewan, is missing fingers on his left hand. So, Sammy spent his summer vacation trying to figure out how to build a robotic prosthetic for him.

Using a 3D printer, Sammy came up with a model that can “open and shut” – allowing Ewan to pick things up – which was proven when the kid was able to pick up his mother’s car keys with his new hand.

Salvano has a goal of graduating with an engineering degree from Drexel University – like his granddad did – and one day? Working for Tesla. Elon Musk...are you listening?
