Boy Raises Over $32K For Charity With Free Lemonade Stand

I recently posted about Wyatt Dennis, who was running a free lemonade stand near Sturgis, South Dakota. The motorcycle-loving eight-year-old didn’t charge for his drinks, but happily accepted donations and he got quite a few during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

But this kid wasn’t just trying to bring in money to buy himself toys. Wyatt planned to save half of his earnings for college and donate 30% to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. And true to his word, he just wrote a check to St. Jude for $32-thousand, 6-hundred. Business was so good, he’ll be doing it again next summer.

“It did get way bigger than anybody ever thought it would,” says Wyatt’s mom, Robin Dennis. “But it’s been a really neat opportunity and we’re really excited.”
