Today (August 3rd) is National Mustard Day and instead of celebrating with a hot dog, which is so 2017, how about French’s mustard ice cream?!
French’s and Coolhaus ice cream shops have teamed up on the bright yellow concoction, which will be available at Coolhaus’s New York City and Los Angeles locations and their Culver City shop from August 9th to 11th.
The folks at Delish got to taste the mustard ice cream ahead of its release and say “it’s really not so bad.” While the radioactive yellow color is “extremely off-putting,” one editor says once “you get it in your mouth, it has a very nice creamy texture to it,” adding, “It doesn’t kill you.” And if that’s not a ringing endorsement, others who smelled or tasted it say it smells like cotton candy and bubble gum and “doesn’t taste like mustard.”
As for me, I'll take a pass...mustard is great on a hot dog...as an ice cream? Not so much!
I scream, you scream, wait.. mustard ice cream? Yes, and it's delicious! We partnered with @Coolhaus for #NationalMustardDay on 8/3 to bring you mustard like you've never had it before. Click here to learn more: https://bit.ly/2OykGlg
