Judge Says No to Britney Spears. Dad (And Conservatorship) Stays.

Britney Spears’ request to move her hearing up to a sooner date in an effort to remove her father Jamie as her conservator, has been denied.

The judge also denied her request to immediately suspend Jamie as her conservator. Britney will now have to wait at least a month to potentially be free of her father, with the current agreement remaining until the September 29th hearing. Meanwhile, Britney continues to reference the conservatorship battle on her Instagram page, and said yesterday that she will be “posting less” from now on after it had been suggested she should be more “cautious” about what she shares.  

On Friday, Jamie Spears fought back against attempts to remove him from the conservatorship that controls her money and affairs, saying there are “no grounds whatsoever” to do so and describing the singer as “mentally sick”. Jamie claimed in a court filing that Britney is struggling so much with her mental health that court-appointed professional Jodi Montgomery, who overseas Britney’s life decisions, recommended hospitalizing her on emergency psychiatric hold. Montgomery and her lawyer said in response that Jamie “misrepresented and manipulated' the call to use it to his own advantage.” Read on!
