Safety is something anybody worries about in their community. Whether you're planning on moving somewhere, or you're currently living somewhere, it's important to think about.
SafeWise conducted a study to find out the safest cities in each state, looking at crime rates and other statistics to determine their rankings. Here's what they had to say about the Evergreen State:
"Washington worries less about crime and safety on a daily basis than most of America, which is no surprise when you see how low crime rates are in the state’s 20 safest cities," researchers say, "[The state] does a better job limiting violent crime than it does with property crime, but both decreased year over year."
They also pointed out that 4 in 10 Washingtonians feel safe about living in the state, despite overall concerns about safety being lower.
Without further ado, here were the Top 10 safest cities in Washington:
- Bainbridge Island
- Lake Forest Park
- Mercer Island
- Maple Valley
- East Wenatchee
- West Richland
