How do you feel about hairy guys? Lots of men are sporting big, full beards these days, but how does that affect their love lives? It may help because according to new research, women find bearded men more attractive.
In the new study, published in the Royal Society Open Science journal, 919 women between 18 and 70 were shown three male faces and asked to rate their attractiveness. The women generally found “masculine” faces more attractive than “feminine” ones, and found bearded men more attractive than clean-shaven ones, with the hairiest faces getting the most positive responses. And this was true whether ladies were looking for short-term or long-term relationships.
But not everyone in the study was a fan of the fuzz. The one exception? Women who are more repulsed by the idea of lice, fleas, ticks, and other hair-dwelling critters are less likely to find beards appealing.
